SWAGAA Men for Change programme - addressing a meeting of construction workers

Men for Change is an approach by Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA) to reach men in working to end gender-based violence (GBV) and the spread of HIV/AIDS through prevention, community empowerment and awareness. It focuses on the role men as agents of change in Swaziland. Innovative GBV and HIV/AIDS programmes that engage men show success, confirming that men and boys are willing to promote gender equality. Well-designed interventions can change traditional norms of masculinity that fuel GBV and HIV infection, especially on children and vulnerable adults.

Phesheya Vilakati, Programme Manager with SWAGAA, will showcase their programme, highlight evidence-basd work and the stories of men gender activists' efforts to address GBV and HIV/AIDS.

Skillshare International Ireland gratefully acknowledges the support of Irish Aid for this meeting and for its project with SWAGAA.
