Donations to Skillshare International Ireland from taxpayers in the Republic of Ireland totalling €250 or more in a calendar year (e.g. €21/month) qualify for full tax refunds.
If you are a PAYE taxpayer, Skillshare can claim the tax you have paid on the income you had to earn to make your donation. For example, if you pay tax at the higher rate of 41%, Skillshare can claim a further €174 from a donation of €250. This brings the total value of your donation to €424. We'll send you a simple form at the end of each year to enable Skillshare to claim your hard-earned tax back from the Revenue Commissioners.
If you are a self-assessed taxpayer or a company/partnership, you can claim your donation against tax in your annual returns. E.g. if you are a self-employed and pay tax at 41%, a donation to Skillshare of €250 will give you a tax credit of €102.50, so the net cost to you will be just €147.50.
